Some objectives and opportunities for the palliative care programme are;

  • To nurture staff interest in palliative care.
  • To integrate palliative care fully into existing services.
  • To ensure a consistent supply of morphine.
  • To provide excellent staff training.
  • To establish streamlined record keeping.

The hospital is partnered by the Palliative Care Association of Uganda and there are plans to establish good palliative care in the region through staff training and working with nearby sister institutions (Hospitals, H/CIV).
